Dave Glover Takes The Bait

Today, Dave Glover, an occasionally funny local radio show host, opened his show with a discussion about how Jon Stewart destroyed CNBC's Jim Cramer. Apparently, Stewart sandbagged Cramer to the point of humiliation.

I'm no fan of Cramer's, but have occasionally stopped to watch his financial advice shtick while channel surfing. I'm also no fan of Jon Stewart's and am always amazed more people don't see right through him.

However, I was surprised that Glover was so gleeful over Cramer's humiliation. Not because Cramer didn't deserve it, but because it was completely transparent what Jon Stewart was up to. I could tell Glover had completely missed the bigger picture. He was like a guy who saw a massive hotel fire, but could only talk about the naked lady he saw running out of the building.

You see, Jim Cramer was a big Obama supporter. (Not at all surprising to me; anyone who makes money shorting the market should have been an Obama supporter!) However, a couple of weeks ago, Cramer flipped and declared in an interview that Obama has been destroying wealth in America by the $Trillions.

In contrast, Jon Stewart, has had a long running slobbering love affair with Obama.

Does Stewart savage Cramer while the market is up and Cramer is betting on it going down? Nope. Does Stewart savage Cramer while Cramer is making supportive statements about the Obama campaign? Nope. Only after Cramer comes out with criticism about Obama does Jon Stewart sandbag Cramer.

Coincidence? Maybe to someone who makes a living from fart jokes, silly sound effects, and sexual innuendo. It's not so much of a coincidence to me.

In fairness, Glover's show isn't a political show, so I wouldn't expect him to do a political analysis of Stewart's actions. However, by talking about how Cramer was humiliated, and not Cramer's flip on Obama, Glover took Jon Stewart's bait - hook, line and sinker.

Keeping Score on The Flim Flam Man

I don't know about you, but I sure prefer President Bush's 14,000 point stock market compared to President Obama's 7,000 point stock market.

Then again, what person with a three digit IQ expected any better from a community organizer turned Flim Flam Man? Not me.

Let California Eat Its Fruits and Nuts

California, perhaps the most socialist state in the union, is broke and expecting taxpayers in more responsible states to pay for its foolishness.

San Francisco proudly declared itself a sanctuary city. The price tag for the care and feeding of the illegals, as well as the multitude of bums and others living off the dole, has caused San Francisco ask the feds to stick taxpayers in other states with $2 Billion in federal bailout money. Statewide, California loses more than $5 Billion paying for illegals who have no right to be in the country to start with.

California could fix its entire budget shortfall if it would abandon its eco-nutty policy of not allowing offshore drilling. If California wants to spend like a drunken sailor, then it should use its own money from offshore oil instead of picking the pockets of other states' taxpayers.

In contrast, you don't see Alaska begging the rest of the states' taxpayers for a bailout, do you? Alaska's government, led by Governor Sarah Palin, put aside some money in good times to handle tight budgets in bad times. Ironically, they sell their oil to the same Californians who are too selfish and short-sighted to drill off their own coast.

Unlike Alaska, in good times California saved nothing. Instead, it spent every penny (and more) expanding the size of its government staffs and programs. Now that there's a recession, they've come begging to the federal government to force responsible states' taxpayers to foot the bill for their wasteful spending.

Sadly, our Socialist-In-Chief gladly bailed out his ideological soul mates. His trillion dollar Spendulous bill included billions for states too stupid to save any money during boom times.

I say, let Californian eat their fruits and nuts.
